Autumn is Just Around the Corner!
It’s Time to Write – It’s Time to Publish
Many of my writing friends have asked how they might continue their work with the professionals they meet out on the town, or at conferences and festivals. Starting Saturday, September 16, I will begin to offer area writers the opportunity to work with a small group of talented writers, and receive one-on-one constructive feedback from me that will enhance and develop their writing projects into publishable works. Below, you’ll find a description of the workshop and the associated fees. For more information, please contact me at tonyraymorris@gmail.com.
The workshop follows a format that was inspired by Frank Green, a mentor to many writers, who ran a workshop in Jacksonville based on his experiences at Sewanee University. In his workshop, the texts were read aloud by the workshop leader, and the writer sat silently at the table until all others had voiced their critiques. The format originated with the Fugitive poets, Allen Tate, John Crowe Ransom, and Robert Penn Warren, in the 1920s. Frank preserved the basics: objective group criticism based on anonymous submissions.
I want to create a collaborative environment where writers can have their work read and skilled readers can provide them with intelligent critiques.
The workshop costs $350. It begins on Sept. 16 and meets on Saturday for 8 weeks from 1 PM-3 P.M. Classes are limited to six students.
Please fill out the form below and attach a 10 page sample. Make your payment via Paypal, Venmo, debit or credit card. Then submit your application. In the meantime, write on!

Not I, not any one else can travel that road for you,
You must travel it for yourself.
It is not far, it is within reach,
Perhaps you have been on it since you were born and did not know,
Perhaps it is everywhere on water and on land.
~Walt Whitman, "Song of Myself"
